Crab/Lobster Shell Flour

Crab/Lobster Shell Flour is an excellent source of essential nutrients including Nitrogen, Phosphorus, Calcium, Magnesium, and Chitin, finely ground for uniform integration into your soil. Ideal for composting, organic soil mixes, pest sprays, and garden topdressing, it enhances soil moisture retention and boosts organic matter. High chitin content encourages beneficial chitin-degrading bacteria, aiding in the control of ants, grubs, fungi, and root nematodes.

Apply by mixing into soil before planting or top-dress with worm castings or compost at 1/4 to 1/2 cup per cubic foot. Combining with kelp meal further improves soil health. 

For managing fungal diseases and pest infestations, prepare a chitin spray using 1/4 cup of Crab/Lobster Shell Flour, 4 gallons of water, and 1 teaspoon of Quantum VSC. Combine these ingredients and allow the mixture to sit for one to two days until the initial odor diminishes. Once ready, strain the solution and dilute it with an additional 4 gallons of water before spraying on plants. Apply during early morning or late afternoon to avoid leaf burn caused by sunlight magnification. Any leftover solution can be applied to soil or compost. Use this spray exclusively for gardens affected by fungal or pest issues.
