SNS 217C is a concentrated rosemary-based spider mite control. This product is the 16 fl oz (1 pint) concentrate; dilute it before use.
- Kills spider mites, broad mites, russet mites and their eggs to interrupt the life cycle.
- May be used up to harvest and around children, pets and beneficial insects when used as directed.
How it works
Spider mites damage plant cells by removing their contents. SNS 217C forms a barrier that is harmless to the plant but fatal to mites. Its rosemary-derived oils disrupt insect cell structures and cause dehydration. An oily coating blocks respiration in mite eggs, preventing them from hatching.
The formula uses 100% pure rosemary botanical extracts that are highly water soluble. Sierra Natural Science processes certified organic botanicals and herbs in-house to maintain consistent oil and terpene potency. The manufacturer describes the botanical materials as food-grade GRAS ingredients that are fully biodegradable and nontoxic to animals when used as directed.
Where to use
For herb, vegetable and flower gardens, greenhouses and hydroponics, on a wide variety of plants, fruits and vegetables.
Mixing and application
- Shake well before mixing and use. Mix 21–26 fl oz of concentrate per gallon of water, according to infestation severity. The manufacturer recommends warm water at about 70°F that is distilled or chlorine free.
- One gallon of concentrate makes up to 6 gallons of mixed solution. The mixed solution may be used immediately or stored for up to 2 weeks.
- Spray leaves, stems, stalks, fruit and around flowers until all plant tissue is covered. Include the undersides of leaves where mites hide and lay eggs. About 1 gallon of solution covers 550 square feet.
- If needed, apply every 3–5 days until the infestation is controlled; use a 7–14 day schedule for preventive maintenance. Do not apply in direct sunlight or under grow lamps, to reduce the chance of burning.
- The manufacturer lists SNS 244C and SNS PC as mixing-compatible products.

Sierra Natural Science represents that SNS 217C qualifies for the FIFRA 25(b) registration exemption. The product has not been registered by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The label states a zero-day restricted-entry interval.
Precautions and storage
- Keep out of reach of children. Wear eye protection, chemical-rated gloves and a long-sleeved shirt. Avoid contact with eyes and skin; this product is not for human consumption.
- Wash contacted food areas and food materials with soap and water. Do not use near heat or open flame.
- Store in a cool, dry area out of direct sunlight and away from heat or open flame. Do not freeze. Do not reuse the container; dispose of it in the trash or recycle where available.
- For eye contact, rinse with water for 15–20 minutes. For skin contact, wash with soap and water. Seek medical advice if irritation persists and have the container or label available.
