Elite Cover Crop Seed Mix

Elite Cover Crop Seed Mix from The Soil Makers is a deliberately designed, multi-species blend that mirrors natural diversity to build a robust living soil. This complex mix has been tested and shows impressive results in expanding microbial life, improving nutrient cycling, and creating a resilient ground cover between cash crops.

• The blend features a balanced range of life cycles and growth forms—annuals, biennials, grasses, legumes, and broadleafs—with varying root depths to foster expansive microbial colonies and a thriving soil ecosystem. Contains: Field Peas, Rye, Barley, Oats, Mustard, Buckwheat. Each component works together to support a healthier, more active soil food web.
• Supports living organic soil: diverse plant roots feed soil biology and promote strong mycorrhizal networks that benefit nearby crops.
• Layered root structure: different root depths enhance soil structure, improve water infiltration, and boost nutrient capture at multiple levels.
• Consistent ground cover: rapid canopy formation reduces erosion and weed pressure while stabilizing soil temperature.
• Organic seeds: a chemical-free approach to soil life enhancement and long-term health of your beds.
• Environmental resilience: if conditions aren’t ideal for some species, others in the mix compensate, providing reliable performance year after year.
• Clear seeding guidance: sow at 75 lb per acre (about 1.5 lb per 50 sq ft).
• Ideal for home gardens, raised beds, and small markets, this mix works as a fall or spring cover crop to rejuvenate soil between money crops. By bolstering mycorrhizae communities and supplying a steady stream of organic matter, it lays a strong foundation for healthier, more productive plants in your next season’s harvest.
